Lately....

It has been a whirlwind around here! Between James building a fence, Nelson having school, Henry having gym and soccer, Jack having a growth spurt that required around the clock feedings, and me finally exercising.... we have been busy! Good, but busy!

We are so thankful for this cooler weather that has allowed us the luxury of having our windows open. We've spent a lot of time outside. We go to the park after school several times a week. (my attempt at getting the boys SUPER sleepy)

I have had the joy of getting to really know some great ladies that live nearby. We go to the track and walk and have started going to the gym this week. Great fellowship AND motivation. For the first time ever I am looking forward to exercising. I am going to be swimsuit ready next summer!!! Seriously!

We are finally tired of the chainlink look so James is working on building us a shadowbox style wood fence. It is looking great!! I tried to upload the most recent pics (side one complete) but suddenly today my computer is not recognizing that my camera is in fact plugged in to it! It looks great though. Next day off he'll start the road side... so far he's done the driveway side.

Nelson is still loving school. He has a great teacher this year. He reads all the time which I am so thankful for. Reading was one of my favorite things to do as a kid and still is. He has really enjoyed being able to ride his bike with no training wheels...and around the block by himself! He is still obsessed with baseball... the Texas Rangers to be exact and insists on having "shaggy" hair like Saltalamachia. Or is it Kinsler? I can't remember.

Henry is having fun at gym. It's a nice break for the middle of the week while Nelson is at school. He is learning new things and spending an hour with other boys his age under someone's supervision besides mine! He is also playing soccer now. (Nelson isn't... long story) He likes it much better than he did t-ball. He even scored two goals his first game!

Jack is growing by leaps and bounds! He's broken the 15lb mark! He's in 3-6 months clothes but about to outgrow them. He's smiling at everyone and everything. Finally enjoying tummy time and even flipped over to his back once. It scared him to the point of tears and breath-holding. I am sure it was an accident as he hasn't done it since. Or maybe he is just too scared! LOL! He found his hands and is enjoying chewing on them and sucking his thumb. I am happy about that since he refuses to take a pacifier. I think he is starting to figure out how to reach for things too. He is also "talking" a lot! Especially when he's in his highchair watching me work in the kitchen. Such a sweetie!

Where has time gone?

Wow, has it been a long time or what!? The last few months have been a whirlwind here and I managed to forget about this family blog!!

You all should know by now that we have added a BEAUTIFUL baby boy to the family... Mr. Jack Nolen Suggs. Born 6/23/09 at 6:50p.m. at a whopping 8lbs 6 oz! He has been such a joy to us all. I already knew what a good big brother Nelson was but it has been wonderful seeing his tenderness and love showered on Jack. And Henry...I was worried about him but he has stepped up to the plate and been awesome with Jack! Aunt Pam was able to be here and really help with the big boys while we were at the hospital. She and Leah were also there to witness the birth.

In addition to gaining a new brother, Nelson and Henry have gone on a couple of vacations this summer. After Aunt Pam went back home, the boys went to Galveston and Schlitterbahn with their Nina and Pops (James & Gale). They had a blast and especially loved the volcano cake they ate at The Rainforest Cafe. Not long after that, they stayed a few days with Aunt Pam and enjoyed playing outside, picking veggies in the garden, shooting hoops, and swimming with her, Allex, Muncle Allan, and Taylor. Yesterday, they returned home after a few days of staying with Mimi and Grandpa (Debbie & Al). They spent a lot of time in the pool, playing the wii and an afternoon at their cousin Cody's first birthday party.

On top of that.... Nelson has learned to ride his bike with no training wheels! We are so proud! He loves to ride his bike while James runs. Now days, Cocamo escapes from the yard and runs with them. Henry, Jack, and I stick to walking around the neighborhood with Blue. Nelson has been practicing pitching with James too. He is really loving baseball and already wants to play again. He's collecting baseball cards and wants to watch EVERY Rangers game that comes on tv. Tomorrow we are going to our second game of the season. Nelson has also really enjoyed reading...and wow... can he read! He just finished (in two weeks) the first Harry Potter book (17 chapters!). He is really looking forward to starting school next week with his new teacher and classmates. We can't believe he's a big 2nd grader!

Henry has been learning to write his letters this summer. He's doing great and is always asking us how to spell words so he can write them. And the other day at the dinner table he said "Mom, I am F-U-L-L!" I didn't tell him how to spell that so I'm not sure.. maybe Nelson did? He really wanted to ride his bikes without training wheels when Nelson did so we tried it but...Henry getsa little frustrated with things sometimes. Needless to say.. training wheels are back on but he won't ride it at all now. He has realy grown this summer, physically and emotionally. He's taller and he has calmed down some. He's much easier to reason with now and is MOSTLY staying out of trouble. You know, he's a little mischevious! :) After going to meet the teacher night he is really wanting to start kindergarten but we are going to have him wait another year. He'll be five on the deadline so he could start but we feel it would do him better to wait. But, he does start going to gymnastics once a week and is really excited about that! If you know Henry, you know how much he loves to swing, jump, and flip off of furniture, swingsets, trampolines, etc. So gymnastics should be a good fit.

In the 8 weeks that Jack has been here, he has changed so much! He's up to 11.5 lbs. He's smiling like crazy...such a happy baby! And he's finally getting on some sort of schedule. I had a terrible time breastfeeding the first two but Jack has been wonderful. I'm amazed at how "easy" it is this time around and I LOVE the bond it has created between us. Jack has also started to try and reach for things. Well, so far just one thing. The parrot on his rainforest activity gym. He is slowly learning to like being put down. Yes. I love to hold him so he is so use to that and did not like to be put down at first when I finally remembered I have two other children that needed me too! Ha ha!

I would make a paragraph for James and I but you can tell from above what we have been doing! Add to that James works schedule and there you have it! :) I'll put a slideshow below of pictures to get you caught up. Tomorrow we are off to celebrate Henry's birthday a few days early. We're going ice skating and to the Rangers game. I'll post pics of that later too!

Nelson

Of course I have to put an adorable pic of Nelson up since I have SUPERHENRY below. :) We have had some flowers growing along our fence...not quite sure what they are (very fragrant and look like white mini daffodils...?)but Nelson makes sure that I always have some in a glass of water on the counter. He is such a sweetheart!

Nelson just finished his first basketball season. He loved it! He really improved a lot over the 5 weeks. I was amazed and proud! Unfortunately most of the pics turned out blurry and dark but here's one for ya. :)

Super Henry

Today Henry decided to be Superman... we now have a box of costumes and he has been someone different every day the last few days! As some of you know, James is training for a marathon... first doing a 10K in March then a Half Marathon later in the year followed by the Marathon in December at White Rock Lake. Anyway, he runs every morning and Henry has been wanting to join him so when he got through and was cooling down, he and SUPERHENRY jogged around the block. It was hilarious! Pictures below! :)

Baby Suggs

So we found out yesterday that we will be having BOY #3!!! James and I are really excited. We thought we wanted a girl but when the dr. said it was a boy we were both relieved and absolutely ecstatic! Both of us burst into laughter! We told the boys when Nelson got home from school. Below is a video of that funny conversation. And by the way... we did decide on a name. JACK NOLEN SUGGS! :)

MK & The Boys

Today Mary Kathryn (Bud & Leah's PRECIOUS daughter) spent the day with Henry and I. They had a big time coloring, playing legos, exploring in the toy room and watching cartoons. We took a short trip to the park (it was too windy) and stopped to see James and the station. The BIG fun came when Nelson got home from school.... she LOVES Nelson! Here are a few pics. :)

A New Year

I hope you all have had a great start to the new year! I look forward to all that is to come... new work done on the house, a new baby, being more out of debt (!!!!), enjoying my family, working harder at Scentsy.....and so much more!

Looking back on 2008....It was a rough year. Even with all the heartache, stress, and sadness, (and the new presidnet-elect, lol) we still had MANY blessings. My extended family grew closer together again. We had an awesome vacation with my parents. We got to see John and his family several times. Nelson started first grade and has really flourished...and lost a few teeth much to his excitement! Henry and his craziness has toned down some and he has learned his letters and their sounds. James has continued to work hard to support us and we have really enjoyed his days home with us. We've welcomed a new baby into the family...my cousin's Aaron and Teena's precious baby boy Noah Charles. Those are just a FEW of the blessings. :)

I hope and pray that God continues to shower us (and you!) with many blessings during this event filled new year.

Here are a few pictures from the end of 2008!
